Boy Scout Troop 682
is chartered though the USASMA Memorial Chapel in Fort Bliss, TX, and an active part of the Yucca Council that encompasses areas of West Texas and Southern New Mexico. Our location allows the Troop access to some of the most visually spectacular parks and camping sites in the southwestern territories. And, as Boy Scouts, we sure do enjoy hiking, camping, and exploring our surrounding mountain areas. However, Boy Scouts isn't just about hiking and camping. With over 135 BSA merit badges, currently available to earn, you can study up on life skills that will prepare you for your high school years and life beyond.
While Troop 682 is located on Fort Bliss, it is open for any boy to join. Our Troop is open to all young men, in our city, between the ages of 11 (having completed the 5th grade) and 17. We also accept Scouts who are 10 years old, provided they have already earned their Arrow of Light Awards.
Troop 682 is smaller than your average Boy Scout Troop, and we see this as one of our greatest strengths. It simply means more focus, during one-on-one learning, and the opportunity for more meaningful peer interactions. We may be small in number, but we are mighty in spirit!
No BSA Troop would be complete without the volunteerism of some very exceptional adults. They are soldiers, educators, and leaders who are prepared to spend a little of their time shaping the hearts and minds of our future generation. They are you and me. Troop 682 leadership is comprised of parents who are willing to lend a hand preparing our boys for life. A simple, free online training program and a few hours per week. That's all we ask. You may even discover a new interest for yourself.
Join us for a meeting and see if Troop 682 is a good fit for your family. We're looking forward to meeting you!
